Some pieces are made to be found on a shelf. This one is made around a story. Designed with You is a way of creating an original piece of Illustrated in Silver jewellery, shaped by what matters most to the person who will wear it.

You bring the meaning. Lindsay and the Ojewellery studio bring the design. You do not need to be an artist or arrive with a finished idea.

Two ways to give something truly personal

Create something unique to give to them

You know them best. Work through the package yourself, telling us about their people, pets, favourite flowers, places and memories, and we turn your story into a piece of jewellery that could only have been made for them. They receive a finished gift that shows exactly how well you know them.

Give them the package, so they can create their own

Prefer to let them choose? Give the experience instead. It arrives in our gift bag with a card for the person it is for. When they open the jewellery box, instead of a finished piece they find a beautiful fold out guide, full of ideas to start them thinking about the people, places, memories and details that matter to them. Then they share their own story and create their own special piece.

It is a gift that begins with a thoughtful surprise and ends with something they helped bring to life.

Designing for yourself? The package works just as beautifully that way.

Either way, this is not a photograph engraved onto a pendant. It is a new piece of artwork, created around a person.

A questionnaire that feels like a conversation

The guided questionnaire is not a formal form. It simply helps you tell us about the person, the places and memories connected to them, the animals and flowers they love, and the dates, words and little details that matter.

Answer as much or as little as you like, skip anything that does not fit, and choose “not sure” whenever you need to. Photographs, screenshots, drawings, handwriting and old family pictures can all help. If the piece is in memory of someone, there are gentle questions for that too.

The aim is not to fit everything onto the piece. It is to understand the story well enough to decide what belongs there.

What your story could become

Your design can be as simple or as detailed as you wish.

• Quiet: a single meaningful image with space to breathe.
• Framed: a central image surrounded by nature or symbols.
• Story rich: several elements brought together into one illustration.

The shape of a piece changes how a story is told, so you can choose from a round disc, an oval or a rectangle. The front holds your illustration, and the reverse can carry a name, date or short message.

One story can inspire a single piece or a collection of coordinating jewellery, from pendants and charms to earrings, bracelets, tie pins, cufflinks and brooches. Exact options depend on your package, and full details are coming soon.

Where a story can begin

The people in your story, such as family, a partner or someone remembered. Places that stay with us, from a childhood home to a favourite coastline. Pets, wildlife, birth flowers, trees and the seasons. Symbols that hold meaning, like a compass, a star sign, a wave or a tiny hidden detail. Sometimes the smallest detail means the most: a name, a date, handwriting, a child's drawing.

Not every part of your story needs to be obvious to everyone else.

How it works

1. Share the story, through the questionnaire or a consultation with Ojewellery.
2. We interpret it and create initial design concepts.
3. We refine the design together until it feels right.
4. The final artwork is approved.
5. We engrave and finish the piece in our Cheshire studio, handcrafted in the UK from recycled sterling silver.
6. It arrives ready to give.
